Nisha Khan is an award-winning Canadian-Pakistani screenwriter and producer, whose writing centers on the messy, complicated experience of being human and the universal yearning for belonging. Her portfolio spans film, television, and digital platforms, with her Canadian Screen Award-nominated digital series Get Up, Aisha — which she created, wrote, and produced — currently streaming on CBC Gem. Nisha has also written for major networks and platforms, including CBC, Netflix Canada, Headspinner, and Marble Media, and she is currently in development with a number of projects.
With her creative partners, Nisha has been awarded the Emerging Talent Prize at this year’s Banff Rockie Awards and nominated for a WGC Award in writing. She is an alum of the Warner Bros. Discovery Access x Canadian Academy Writers Program, the MPAC Hollywood Children’s Animation Writing Fellowship, and was awarded the Magee TV Diversity Screenwriting Mentorship Award. She recently participated in the Canada-Asia Pacific co-production accelerator (CAPCA) led by RESO in partnership with one of the world’s leading Korean drama producers, SLL. Her life’s greatest accomplishment, however is being listed as Britney Spears’ top fan on Spotify five years running — proof of her rock solid loyalty. And for anyone still doubting whether love exists, she points to the undeniable evidence that is Bridgerton Season 2. And when she’s not going down a Reddit rabbit hole after binging Love Island, you can probably find her building houses in The Sims. |
